Job Description
Bristol Bay Native Corporation is hiring a Forestry Technician in Fort Campbell, KY. The role involves forest inventory, prescribed fire operations, timber marking, and data collection for natural resource management. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Natural Resources or a related field, knowledge of forest management, and GIS proficiency. SpecPro Professional Services, LLC (SPS) is seeking a Forestry Technician experienced in providing natural resource management and forestry support. This individual will provide technical support to assist in development of management plans, field data collection, and data analysis associated with forest and agricultural lease management.
What You'll Do:
• Conduct forest inventory of rural and urban forest for inclusion in forest management plan updates in accordance with scientifically valid methodology
• Assist in conducting prescribed fire operations as required
• Assist in timber marking
• Collection of general silviculture data
• Update and provide recommendations to Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and statutes
• Implement open lands management in accordance with INRMP
• Create maps and maintain GIS databases
• Other duties as requested
What You Bring:
• Bachelor's Degree in Natural Resources or closely related field preferred
• Knowledge of forest management, agricultural leases, Department of Defense environmental
programs, Army policy and guidance
• Familiar with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and ESRI software
• Verbal and written communication skills
