The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks is hiring a full-time Fisheries Technician/Environmental Associate for the Meade Fish Hatchery. Responsibilities include maintenance of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and mechanical systems, as well as grounds upkeep and vehicle maintenance. The position is supervised by the Hatchery Manager and requires record-keeping for maintenance schedules. No degree is specified as a requirement.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATE/FISHERIES TECHNICIAN – Position #K0238269 This unclassified, full-time position is located at the Meade Fish Hatchery, Fisheries and Wildlife Division; and is directly supervised by Jason Vajnar, Hatchery Manager. The incumbent is responsible for repairs and maintenance on plumbing, electrical that includes 110v up to 3 phase 480V, basic carpentry, and mechanical systems associated with the Meade Fish Hatchery; system components include a variety of pumps, propane and diesel generators, filtration, valves, alarm, aeration components, all road vehicles and motorized equipment; maintains records on components requiring scheduled maintenance and vehicle maintenance and usage reports; maintains grounds to include pond dikes, fish harvest kettles, distributors, raceways, lawn and landscaping, roads, all hatchery buildings, water cisterns; responsible for general inspection and maintenance of these structures, to include required plumbing, electrical wor...
