We specialize in sustainable fish stocking, habitat restoration, water quality management, and overall aquatic resource management. Our team is passionate about creating balanced and thriving aquatic environments for our clients, and we are seeking a dedicated Fisheries Technician to join us in this mission. Position Overview:
As a Fisheries Technician at Aqua Sierra Inc., you will play a vital role in assisting with the management of lakes and ponds, with a focus on fish stocking and aquatic ecosystem health. Your responsibilities will encompass various tasks related to fish stocking, water quality monitoring, habitat assessment, and data collection. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about fisheries management, conservation, and sustainable practices. Key Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive client relationships. Develop fish stocking strategies, coordinate fish hauls, transport fish, and stock into waters across Colorado in accordance with state rules and regulations. Operate and maintain trucks and hauling trailer(s). Conduct water quality assessments:
collect, analyze, and summarize. Monitor aquatic habitats, identify potential issues, and document detailed and accurate activity logs. Collaborate with the biologists to develop and implement management plans, such as fisheries assessments, aquatic resource management, and system installations. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Fisheries, Aquatic Biology, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). Knowledge of fisheries management principles and practices. Experience with fish stocking is a strong asset. Familiarity with water quality monitoring techniques and equipment. Strong observational and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently. Trailering experience is preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Microsoft and Apple products. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, experience with 3/4 ton trucks is a plus Benefits:
