Why does the job exist?

The purpose of this position is to support the Air Quality Bureau in collaboration with the Bureau Financial Manager and Bureau Chief by providing financial and related administrative support.
How does it get done?
• Manage budget projections and assist in annual budget preparation
• Prepare financial reports and complete reconciliations, including payroll, accounts receivable, and contracts
• Prepare and enter purchase orders and vouchers for all encumbrances in a timely manner
• Process travel requests efficiently and in accordance with policies
• Prepare and record journal entries accurately
• Oversee and support contract management and requests for proposal (RFP) processes
• Perform revenue deposits and other financial and administrative tasks in support of the Financial Services Bureau
• Work extensively in the Statewide Financial Reporting System (SHARE)

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and four (4) years of experience in accounting, finance, economics, and/or statistical analysis. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
