Finance Lead / Chief Financial Officer (Climate-tech pre-Series A startup)

A rapidly growing, VC-backed climate tech company is hiring a Finance Lead (CFO track) in Singapore. This early-stage startup is tackling a critical decarbonisation challenge in a traditionally hard-to-abate sector and has raised capital from leading global impact investors.

The business is looking for a high-potential finance leader to join the team early, work directly with the Founder, and build the finance function from the ground up. You will operate as a true #1 in finance, with full ownership across financial operations, while also being exposed to strategic initiatives including fundraising, asset structuring, and new business build-outs.

This is a hands-on role - ideal for someone who is excited to roll up their sleeves in a lean team and grow with the company.

What you will do
• Build and run the finance function end-to-end (with outsourced accounting support initially)
• Work directly with the Founder on financial strategy, fundraising, and business planning
• Support debt structuring and asset financing initiatives
• Develop financial models, budgets, and cash flow management frameworks
• Set up financial controls, processes, and reporting from scratch
• Get involved in strategic projects, including newco / asset holding structures and partnerships

What we are looking for
• Big 4 background (Audit or Transaction Services)
• 6-10 years of experience, ideally with some exposure to a startup or high-growth environment
• Experience in a hands-on finance role (FP&A, controllership, or finance manager level)
• Exposure to debt financing, transaction advisory, or capex-heavy businesses is a plus
• Strong fundamentals with willingness to get involved in detail (e.g. journals, controls, processes)
• Commercial mindset and interest in sustainability / climate
