Job Description

IEA Management Services is seeking a Finance Controller to oversee financial activities in Aurora, IL. The role involves managing a team for payroll, invoicing, and general ledger tasks, while ensuring compliance and process improvements. Candidates should have at least ten years of experience, preferably in a large organization, with a degree in accounting or finance. This is an onsite position with relocation assistance and additional benefits.
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Finance Controller to oversee the financial and accounting activities within our organization. This role involves supervising a team to ensure timely and precise processing of payroll, client invoicing, accounts payable, cash management, and general ledger activities. As a senior mentor within the accounting department, you will drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous process improvements that support the growth of MasTec Renewables.

Location & Travel Details: This is an onsite position based in our office in Clinton, Indiana, which is a short commute from Terre Haute. We provide relocation assistance for candidates considering this role. Additionally, this position offers a vehicle allowance and participation in an annual incentive program.

Key Responsibilities:
• Direct and manage the accounting functions for assigned companies within MasTec.
• Assist the VP Finance and CFO in defining the company's future direction and tactical initiatives.
• Monitor and guide the implementation of financial and tax strategies.
• Coordinate month-end closings to ensure timely reporting to corporate headquarters.
• Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end work papers, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
• Review and approve daily accounting transactions.
• Support monthly forecasts and the annual budgeting process.
• Proactively address challenges and provide effective solutions.
• Delegate responsibilities to accounting management effectively.
• Manage staff responsible for general ledger accounting, cash reporting, expense reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Evaluate performance, address complaints, and resolve employee issues.
• Maintain relationships with auditors and handle their findings and recommendations.
• Identify and recommend solutions to streamline accounting processes.

Qualifications:
• A minimum of ten years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience as a Corporate Controller or subsidiary controller in a large organization.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
• Commitment to health and safety, adhering to Zero Injury principles.
• Expertise in construction accounting and revenue recognition.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven leadership in mentoring and developing accounting teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
