Job Description

IEA Management Services is seeking a Finance Controller in Joliet, IL, responsible for overseeing finance and accounting activities, including payroll, invoicing, and cash management. This onsite role involves leading a team, ensuring compliance, and implementing financial strategies. Candidates should have 10 years of relevant experience and a degree in accounting or finance. The position offers relocation assistance, a vehicle allowance, and competitive benefits.
Overview: Responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting activities of the IEA company. Lead a team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll, client invoicing, accounts payable, cash management, and other general ledger activities. Serve as a senior mentor for accounting efforts in the department, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and process improvements to support the growth of MasTec Renewables.

Location: This onsite position is based in our office in Clinton, Indiana, which is a short commute from Terre Haute. We offer relocation assistance for this position and it is eligible for a vehicle allowance and an annual incentive program.

The MasTec Renewables sector is part of the MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure business segment, which generates over $4 billion in annual revenue through construction services across industrial, renewable, and infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities:
• Manage accounting functions within MasTec.
• Assist VP Finance and CFO in shaping future business directions.
• Oversee the implementation of financial and tax strategies.
• Coordinate month-end closings ensuring timely preparation of reporting packages.
• Prepare work papers, reconciliations, and variance analyses for month-end and year-end.
• Conduct audits with internal and external parties.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
• Review daily accounting transactions and provide approvals.
• Assist with monthly forecasts and the annual budgeting process.
• Delegate responsibilities to accounting management effectively.
• Manage a team responsible for General Ledger accounting, cash reporting, and accounts management.
• Motivate and develop accounting staff through effective leadership.
• Evaluate and implement process improvements in accounting functions.

Qualifications:
• Ten years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience as a Corporate Controller or subsidiary controller.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
