The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a skilled Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive) to join our team in Cambridge, Ontario. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to critical machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include:
• Performing maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment
• Adequately diagnosing and repairing various makes of equipment as required by customers
• Conducting tasks assigned from the Dispatcher, maintaining communication and providing updates as needed
• Reviewing and discussing job details with customers
• Actively communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered
• Maintaining proper documentation as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
• 5+ years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry is preferred
• Possession of a 310S Automotive Technician, 310T Truck Technician, or a 282E Powered Lift Truck Technician certification is an asset
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines a strong asset
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with external customers and internal stakeholders
• Valid Driver’s License required

The base pay rate for this role is $41.50 per hour, depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Cambridge, Ontario.
