IEA Management Services is hiring a Field Survey Lead in Bellevue, NE. This onsite role requires expertise in ALTA Surveys and involves significant travel across the U.S. to support renewable projects. Responsibilities include developing survey plans, supervising teams, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with engineering teams. The position also involves mentoring junior technicians and requires a degree in surveying or related fields.
Position Overview:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Field Survey Lead who is adept at understanding state regulations governing land surveying practices. This role requires expertise in ALTA Surveys with a strong focus on topographic features and engineering design alignment. As the lead surveyor, you will coordinate effectively with office management and project teams, ensuring seamless communication. You will also mentor junior technicians, implementing best practices and standard operating procedures to support their growth and success.

This is an onsite position based in Hartford City, Indiana.

Location & Travel Details: In this role, you will have the opportunity to travel across the United States to assist our team in building renewable projects. This position involves significant travel, up to 100% of the time, with placements on project sites located in various states. Each project typically lasts 8-12 months. We offer a designated daily per diem in addition to your base salary to support living expenses. You will also be eligible for regular travel home from the job site, and a company vehicle along with a fuel card will be provided.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Survey leadership and Engineering to understand site-specific surveying requirements.
• Develop thorough survey plans that consider project scope, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Ensure proper allocation of equipment, resources, and personnel with the Survey leadership's coordination.
• Conduct on-site inspections to verify that survey activities align with project specifications.
• Supervise and monitor surveying teams for accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
• Proactively address and resolve any survey-related challenges during construction.
• Stay informed on regulatory aspects of land surveying at local, state, and federal levels.
• Ensure compliance of all surveying activities with relevant laws, codes, and safety standards.
• Assist Survey leadership in obtaining necessary permits and approvals for surveying operations.
• Oversee data collection and review processed analyses from internal and external sources.
• Create comprehensive reports summarizing survey findings, offering actionable insights.
• Present survey results to project management clearly and effectively.
• Facilitate communication between surveying teams, engineering teams, and project management.
• Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to integrate survey data into project planning.
• Provide regular progress updates, including challenges and solutions to the project team and Survey leadership.
• Plan daily work schedules for site survey crews.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in surveying, remote sensing, drafting, engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
• Minimum of five years of surveying experience in construction or operations, particularly in engineering and renewable energy sectors.
• Certification as a Survey Technician (CST) I is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Commitment to maintaining personal and team health and safety, adhering to the Company's Zero Injury principles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in computer literacy and effective file management.
• Advanced understanding of ALTA Surveys and various schematics.
• Familiarity with surveying software such as Trimble Business Center, MAGNET Office, or Civil 3D.
• Ability to inspire and lead teams successfully.
• Experience in training and mentoring Survey Technicians.
• Skilled in working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
