Job Description

Varaha is seeking a Field Supervisor for the Regenerative Cotton Project in Wardha, Maharashtra. The role involves managing field activities, engaging with farmers, coordinating teams, and ensuring project implementation. Candidates should have a background in agriculture with at least 2 years of experience, strong communication skills, and a willingness to travel frequently to rural locations. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits.
We are looking for a committed Field Supervisor to manage on-ground execution of regenerative cotton farming activities. The Field Supervisor will directly engage with farmers, coordinate field teams, and ensure smooth implementation of project activities at the village and block level.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day field activities including farmer mobilization, training sessions, demonstrations, and data collection.
• Provide technical support to farmers on regenerative cotton practices under the guidance of the agronomy team.
• Ensure timely and quality implementation of field protocols and project interventions.
• Manage a team of field staff and enumerators assigned to the respective block or region.
• Act as a key link between farmers, FPOs, local stakeholders, and the project team.
• Regularly report field progress, challenges, and farmer feedback to the Operations Manager.
• Support logistical arrangements for field visits, training programs, and distribution of inputs.
• Conduct basic data checks and validations before submission to the data management team.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree/diploma in Agriculture, Rural Development, or related fields.
• 2+ years of experience working in agriculture, farmer outreach, or rural development projects.
• Hands-on experience in coordinating field teams and working directly with farmers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in Marathi and Hindi.
• Willingness to be based in rural locations with frequent field travel.

Preferred
• Experience with cotton or sustainable agriculture projects.
• Familiarity with data collection tools (paper-based or digital like ODK, KoboToolbox).
• Understanding of local farming systems and FPO functioning.
