Job Description
The Field Service Technician I at RES in Dover, DE, assists senior technicians in maintaining utility-scale solar facilities. Responsibilities include preventative and corrective maintenance of solar panels and power systems, troubleshooting, managing site inventory, and ensuring safety protocols. Candidates should have a high school diploma, related maintenance experience, and the ability to commute within 60 miles of the site. Domestic travel is required 76-100% of the time.

Summary
The Field Service Technician I will assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on‑site assets such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters.
Requirements
• Takes direction from senior site personnel.
• Assists with troubleshooting of AC and DC power systems.
• Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
• Uses hand tools effectively.
• Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Manages site inventory.
• Follows site safety plan and safe work practices.
• Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
• Interfaces with project subcontractors.
• Represents RES in professional manner to project stakeholders.
• Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.
• Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
• Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
• Rotating on‑call schedule for emergency response.
• Presets, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality‑oriented attitude.
Safety
• Follows safety and security proceduresand determines appropriate action.
• Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
• Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
• Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
• Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
• Receives job- and task‑specific training prior to work commencing.
Qualifications
• High school/GED General Education required.
• 1+ years or more Related maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), Electrical power systems, Drawings, Basic circuit theory, OSHA regulations, Hand tools.
• Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on‑site responsibilities.
• Ability to work a rotating on‑call schedule for emergency response.
• Functional Competencies Include: Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Ethics & Integrity, Communication and Prioritization.
• Domestic travel 76‑100% required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
Salary
Anticipated base salary range: $25.33 – $31.66
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
