Farm Worker

Fat Mountain Farms is seeking a dedicated Farm Worker in Cerro Gordo, NC, to care for livestock and assist with farm operations. Responsibilities include daily animal care, moving livestock, operating equipment, and general maintenance. The position offers hands-on training in sustainable farming practices and opportunities for growth. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential. This is a full-time or part-time role with a competitive hourly wage.

Responsibilities:
• Daily care for livestock, ensuring they have food, water, and a clean environment
• Moving livestock daily to fresh pasture using electric fencing and mobile shelters
• Assisting with on-farm processing of poultry (training provided)
• Operating and maintaining farm equipment, including tractors and mowers
• Repairing and maintaining fencing, shelters, and farm structures
• General farm maintenance, such as mowing, weed control, and equipment repair
• Assisting with packing and shipping orders for our direct-to-consumer customers

Qualifications:
• High school diploma preferred
• Farm experience is a plus, but not required—we will train the right person!
• A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
• Experience with tractors, mowers, or other heavy machinery is a plus
• Passion for sustainable and regenerative farming

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Schedule:
• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Ability to Relocate:
• Cerro Gordo, NC 28430: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
