Job Description

Kibo Farm in Santa Rosa, CA is hiring Farm Crew Members for the 2025 season, from May to November. The role involves physically demanding outdoor work such as transplanting, harvesting, and packing produce, with a focus on organic farming. Candidates should have prior farming experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team. The position is full-time, requiring reliable transportation, as there is no public transit available.
Kibo Farm (www.kibosonoma.com) is seeking hardworking and enthusiastic people to join our small farm crew for the 2025 season, from May through the end of November, five days per week.

We are a 5-acre family farm located outside Santa Rosa, CA in Sonoma County. The farm is on the property of Belden Barns Winery (www.beldenbarns.com).

Our focus is on growing unique, high quality fruit and vegetables, following organic principles and practices. We specialize in interesting varieties, particularly Asian vegetables as well as storage crops like popcorn and milling corn. In addition to vegetables we have 1.5-acres of diverse tree fruit, primarily heirloom apples for cider. We sell our produce wholesale through the F.E.E.D. Cooperative where it is distributed to restaurants, retailers and corporate campuses around the Bay Area. Our dry goods and the cider we bottle in collaboration with Belden Barns are sold primarily on-site and online to Belden Barns’ customers.

We are passionate about producing delicious food and sharing our knowledge about farming. The farm crew works closely with the farm owners to transplant, harvest, wash and pack produce. Other tasks include bed preparation, weeding, irrigating, seed sowing and orchard care. The work can be strenuous, especially during the hottest days of the season, but also a lot of fun. We are looking for people who enjoy physically demanding work outside and working collaboratively, and who have a genuine interest in food production.

Experience & Qualifications
• Experience working on a farm, with at least one season of production farming experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and an upbeat, positive attitude
• Able to work well with others and also independently, while maintaining energy and focus
• Able to work efficiently and meet quality standards
• Capable of repetitive physical work over varied terrain – can bend and kneel, work outside for long hours in a variety of weather conditions, and lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Willingness to apply oneself where needed and take direction and feedback well
• Committed to working the full season, through the end of November 2025
• Punctual with reliable transportation (there is no public transit to our location)

Schedule: May through the end of November, five days per week (Monday through Friday)

Hours: 8 hours per day (40 hours per week)

Compensation: $19.00/hr. We do not have on-farm housing to offer but we can provide plenty of fresh produce.
