Job Description

Eastern Iowa Community College District is hiring a full-time faculty member to teach biology and environmental science at Muscatine Community College in Davenport, IA. Candidates should have a Master's degree in a relevant field and teaching experience is preferred. Responsibilities include course design, student evaluation, and participation in college committees. The position offers a competitive salary starting at $51,618 and a comprehensive benefits package.
Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated faculty member to teach biology and environmental science courses at Muscatine Community College. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching and service, and a commitment to the mission and values of the community college. Responsibilities:
• Teach courses in biology and environmental science, utilizing effective and appropriate instructional delivery methods
• Participate in the design of courses and programs of instruction, and maintain currency of curriculum
• Demonstrate satisfactory preparation and meet with classes as scheduled
• Evaluate and record student performance and achievement, and provide feedback to students
• Establish and maintain office hours to assist students and provide feedback
• Collaborate with support services to assist student success, and monitor and communicate with students about academic progress
• Participate in outcomes assessment measurements and plan and implement learning strategies to meet student outcomes
• Serve on college and district committees, and attend and participate in scheduled faculty, college, and district meetings
• Support the college in the recruitment and retention of students
• Demonstrate professionalism at all times, and support the EICC mission, values, and belief in high expectations and high aspirations
• *Qualifications:**
• Master's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or Science Education
• Combination of 18 credit hours in the following fields: Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, and/or Science Education (at least 6 must be from an appropriate sub-discipline)
• Experience teaching in higher education is preferred
