Job Description

Kohler Co. is seeking a Facility EHS Manager in Bekasi, Indonesia, responsible for managing environmental, health, and safety requirements at the facility. Key duties include developing EHS policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting inspections, and fostering a proactive EHS culture. The role involves collaborating with site leaders, reporting on EHS metrics, and overseeing training and emergency response initiatives to enhance safety and minimize environmental impact.

Overview

The Facility Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for all facility-related environmental, health and safety requirements, including developing, maintaining, updating and communicating all related company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory compliance, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements. The EHS Manager will be fundamental to guiding the facilities EHS culture.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development, implementation and continuous enhancement of EHS services and programs, aligned with Kohler Co.’s Management system, that embeds a proactive and positive EHS culture and system at the facility.
• Identify and leverage EHS best practices and manage through the Safety and Environmental network.
• Lead EHS planning at the facility, including the setting of goals, prioritizing facility needs and establishing adequate systems for performance review and improvement.
• Partner with site and department leaders and associates on implementation of creative approaches to improve safety, minimize environmental footprint and liability, and implement EHS initiatives.
• Conduct and/or coordinate EHS inspections and assessments to assure compliance with regulatory requirements, Kohler Co. EHS initiatives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) expectations, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive corrective actions.
• Provide progress reports, as appropriate, to facility associates, business unit and/or business group leadership relative to EHS goals, metrics and other key performance indicators.
• Coordinate resources to ensure EHS requirements, both regulatory and Kohler Co. specific, affecting the facility are fully understood and properly managed.
• Obtain and maintain records, data, or information necessary to: prepare internally or externally required reports; respond to agency requests; and verify compliance with EHS requirements. -Prepare and submit timely reports and responses to informational requests.
• Change management: Evaluate current and proposed materials, equipment and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, promote a safe work environment and protect the environment. Ensure get required EHS pertinent permits.
• Provide EHS oversight with regard to the design and installation of new or altered equipment or processes with the goal of eliminating or reducing safety hazards and environmental impact. Ensure facility obtains required EHS pertinent permits.
• Provide training and information necessary to ensure responsible personnel are aware of corporate and governmental EHS regulations and requirements.
• Lead the facility in promoting and implementing a high performance EHS culture.
• Lead the development, maintenance, implementation, and annual review of EHS policies, procedures and responsibilities, and develop/direct activities that will stimulate and maintain employee interest as well as improve EHS performance.
• Develop and maintain an EHS compliance matrix and obligation calendar.
• Ensure monitoring activities necessary to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and Kohler Co. initiatives are completed.
• Lead the facility response to emergency and national health issues.
• Manage the facility incident investigation process to ensure incidents are reported in a timely manner, root causes are identified, and corrective actions are tracked through closure.
• Plan, develop, deliver, and coordinate effective EHS training to all facility employees, temporary workers, contractors, and visitors to promote a strong EHS culture.
• Partner with business unit EHS leadership as applicable for matters within own facility or into the broader business.
• Facilitate continuous improvement team events.
• Coordinate and support EHS compliance activities.

Skills/Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Coaching and supporting subordinate professional development.
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or similar required. Post graduate qualification(s) preferred.
• Relevant certifications preferred: (Certified Safety Professional, Industrial Hygienist, Hazardous Materials Manager, etc.)
• 7 – 10+ years of experience, preferably in industry. (Experience target may be impacted by facility/site complexity)
• Experience implementing critical safe work programs and practices (LOTO, machine guarding, confined space entry, work at heights, electrical work, etc.)
• Experience managing sustainability initiatives preferred.
• Proficiency in applicable codes, standards, regulations, etc.
• Experience interacting with regulatory agencies
• Language skill (local language and English)
• Travel as required, estimated at no more than 20%
