About The Role

The Facilities Associate III (FA III) is an advanced level of technician classification and will be proficient in all FA I, II, and III skills. The FA III is expected to perform a full range of duties, with a focus on HVAC. The FA III requires specialized knowledge and complex construction related work. The FA III will provide direction to lower-level technicians and requires general supervision from the Director of Facility Operations. The FA III may manage inventory, schedule work, and assist in budget development and provides technical oversight for Facilities Associate I and II positions.

What You’ll Do Here
• Advanced knowledge in all phases and practices of construction and remodel related tasks or projects.
• Advanced knowledge in the safety practices required for all phases of the construction industry and the ability to enforce these practices.
• Assist the Project Manager of Maintenance in overseeing construction related projects including the remodel of existing buildings or new construction of structures or buildings located on the facility.
• Oversee the work of lower-level Facilities Associates by making and reviewing work assignments, establishing work priorities, coordinating activities in the work area, and resolving problems related to the specific task.
• Advanced knowledge and ability to oversee construction, repair, and installation duties in the trade including but not limited to carpentry, painting, dry walling, plumbing, HVAC, and minor electrical work.
• Advanced knowledge in estimating time and materials needed for assigned projects.
• Advanced knowledge in the current construction related codes, standards, and regulations.
• Responsibility to maintain a safe and clean work environment or job site, and to make sure that all tools and equipment are picked up and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
• Ability to train lower-level technicians on the correct and safe way to operate all construction equipment and power hand tools.
• Direct and train lower-level technicians on the required process during an emergency outage.
• Responsibility to ensure that all required tools, equipment, and material needed to perform the work are on the job site as needed.
• Assist the Director of Facility Operations in developing project cost estimates and project management.
• Evaluates problem areas or work requested, estimate time requires, figure material, and hardware needed for the work to be performed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need To Succeed
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• HVAC certifications
• Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; adapts easily to new software
• English proficiency both written and verbal; general reading, writing and verbal communication skills
• Strong communication skills preferred
• Basic math skills
