About the Role

• Protect and promote National Grid's reputation in local communities where it is looking to consent and build new or upgrade existing infrastructure
• Meet projects' stakeholder engagement and community relations requirements from planning through to construction
• Build relationships with a diverse range of local political and community stakeholders
• Manage local expectations about essential works and their impacts through effective communications

About You

At National Grid, we seek experts in their field. We are looking for someone who has:

• High articulation skills with strong written, verbal, and presentation abilities
• Good networking and relationship management skills
• Experience in managing relationships and delivering outcomes through contractors and suppliers
• Experience in managing diverse stakeholder engagement communications programs
• Track record in developing and delivering stakeholder engagement communications strategies
• Understanding of the external environment in which National Grid construction projects are carried out
• Understanding of the transmission and construction business and the planning process (advantageous)

What You'll Do

• Develop strong working relationships with National Grid project teams, supporting projects from conception through to construction
• Develop community relations and stakeholder engagement scopes for infrastructure projects and manage community relations agencies
• Review, challenge, and sign off stakeholder engagement and community relations plans against project objectives
• Support the delivery of plans to ensure efficient stakeholder engagement across infrastructure projects
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor community relations agencies' performance and finances
• Establish network support across National Grid teams
• Represent National Grid at stakeholder engagement and community events
• Coordinate responses to media queries, project updates, community relations briefings, and complaints
• Ensure project teams are aware of corporate-level issues influencing communications activities
• Promote National Grid's socio-economic initiatives and community grant programs
