About the Role

Great Britain's electricity system is undergoing an ambitious, exciting, and vital transformation. Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, greener system that protects the planet and serves generations to come. As the Electricity System Operator (ESO) for Great Britain, we are at the heart of the energy system, balancing electricity supply and demand second by second. In this role, you will be part of a team that delivers a new perspective on industry codes in GB to enable the transition to net zero.

Key Responsibilities

• **Commercial Codes:** Facilitate and drive change process within legal and regulatory frameworks to deliver positive change for end consumers and meet net zero targets.
• **European Frameworks:** Develop a GB position on European regulatory arrangements and ensure efficient energy trading and system operation across borders.
• **Whole System Frameworks:** Work to ensure frameworks deliver benefits for the consumer, taking into account industry transition.

About Us

The National Energy System Operator (NESO) will be formed in Summer of 2024, transitioning from the ESO. NESO will be responsible for planning electricity and gas networks in Great Britain. As part of this transition, we are looking for team members who can shape the future of energy consumption and usage in the country.

Qualifications

• Good electricity regulatory knowledge
• Understanding of industry codes and wider market frameworks
• Experience in change management
• Proven experience in building relationships and negotiation skills.
