Position Function:

The primary function of this position is to support a variety of routine and specialized Extension projects in the PLACE:SLR program supporting coastal climate resilience and coastal restoration.

This position will be focused on conducting extension, outreach, and applied research activities related to the translation of sea-level rise and related climate resilience information for coastal decision-making.

The selected applicant will become part of the Program for Local Adaptation to Climate Effects: Sea Level Rise extension (PLACE:SLR) program and participate in a variety of program activities.

The position will involve collaborating with stakeholders, including land managers, modelers, and other end-users, to improve the utilization of application outputs for decision making.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing stakeholder engagement activities, developing communication materials, and facilitating meetings.

Travel will be necessary for conferences, meetings, and project-related activities.

The successful candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills, as well as experience working with diverse groups of partners.

This role requires strong typing and computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and document/project management/sharing platforms.

A high school diploma is required, while a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and experience in customer service or public interaction are preferred.

This position is based at the MSU Coastal Research and Extension Center in Biloxi, MS, but will require travel to coastal Mississippi, Alabama, and Northwest Florida on a regular basis.
