Excavator Operator 2- Richmond VA

EQR-Maryland is seeking a full-time Excavator Operator in Richmond, VA. Job Description:

The Construction Secondary Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery in various locations, including near streams and wetlands, while performing physical tasks to meet project specifications and ensuring safety. This position requires heavy lifting and working outdoors in all weather conditions and seasons. Candidates must be local to the Richmond area, as job sites can be over an hour away. EQR operates on a direct report model; all employees are required to report to the job site directly from home. The role also requires good sight (not color blind), hearing (for safety), and verbal communication. A signing bonus is available!

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain equipment per project requirements.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections and complete checklists.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heavy lifting and manual labor.
• Follow instructions, communicate effectively, and ensure safety on site.

Requirements:
• Must be local to Richmond or reside in the area.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• 2+ years of operating tracked excavators.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work long hours and in physically demanding conditions.

Working Conditions:
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions and varying terrain.
• Possible night and weekend work required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
