Job Description

EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist or Engineer in Honolulu, HI. The role involves managing environmental compliance on a construction site, including implementing Environmental Protection Plans, conducting inspections, and preparing technical documents. Candidates should have a B.S. in Environmental Sciences or Engineering, five years of relevant experience, and HAZWOPER certification. The salary ranges from $75,000 to $90,000, with various employee benefits offered.
We have an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Scientist or Environmental Engineer in our Honolulu, HI office.

What you will do:

The Environmental Scientist or Engineer will serve as an environmental manager (EM) for an active construction site and will be directly responsible for coordinating compliance with federal, state, local, and installation requirements. Specific responsibilities include:
• Implementing the project-specific Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) to ensure compliance with the Hazardous Waste Program requirements, Stormwater Program requirements, and environmental permits.
• Inspecting and managing Satellite Accumulation areas and other required inspections.
• Preparing and maintaining an Environmental Records binder that includes required documentation, inspection checklists, environmental permit compliance records, and close out records.
• Field activities that include soil sample collecting, shipping, and tracking.
• Preparing technical documents including environmental sample results reports.
• Tracking costs and schedules.
• Managing subcontractors.

What you will need:
• B.S. in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Five years of experience in environmental work-related experience such as environmental consulting.
• Experience in environmental soil sample collection.
• Experience in technical report writing including sample data results comparison and assessment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently.
• OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Certification (minimum 24 hours) plus Annual RCRA Hazardous Waste Refresher Training (8 hours).
• Ability to pass background check.

Salary range is $75,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
