Overview

Job Summary

Responsible for the daily housekeeping/laundry service duties to maintain prescribed levels of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the independent and healthcare living facilities using approved chemicals, germicides, and equipment to complete various assigned duties. Follows prescribed schedules and procedures of the Environmental Services Department.

Essential Functions
• Provides general housekeeping duties to include: mopping, dusting, cleaning counter tops, cleaning trim, vacuuming, etc. Also provides laundry services within the Carlyle Place facility including washing, drying, folding, delivery and pick-up of linens on daily schedules. Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Performs duties to ensure all units occupied and /or unoccupied by residents are cleaned at their assigned time and day.
• Responds to certain critical emergency codes within the facility and residential areas.
• Identify need for maintenance attention to residential and facility related issues, safety concerns, hazardous situations.
• Responsible for using chemicals and supplies in a judicious manner.
• Responsible for reporting any hazards to a Supervisor, as well as placing Wet Floor Signs in a manner that is easily recognizable to any resident, visitor or fellow employee when doing any sort of maintenance on any floor surface. These signs are to be placed in a manner that directs traffic to the safe part of a floor or corridor.
• Follows State Regulations and OSHA guidelines and regulations. Familiar with MSDS and Safety labeling and ensures proper use of chemicals and solutions.

• Operate commercial washers, dryers and commercial iron press.
