Position Summary:
The Environmental and Ecological Services (EES) Department conducts fees for service projects for Butterfly Pavilion. These projects include consultation, monitoring, and research on oil and gas restoration sites that wish to install pollinator habitat, development sites to help them create Pollinator Districts, commercial properties to make recommendations and assess the effectiveness of putting in pollinator habitat, and more. That work also often includes education and outreach components in the form of signs, training, and additional programming. The EES Biology Manager will lead field work (horticultural and invertebrate), create and manage reports and services offered by the EES department. In addition, the EES Biology Manager will serve as project manager, managing EES project timelines, contracting, proposals, and scopes of work, invoicing, and working closely with clients and staff to ensure workflows for all EES projects while also supporting organizational project priorities as needed.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Ensures all projects include timelines that ensure adequate staffing and other resources are available and devoted to projects.
• Coordinates meetings with stakeholders and EES team
• Communicates and works closely with customers, vendors, and installers on project timing, completion estimates, and appropriate staff contacts.
• Provides timely updates to stakeholders
• Tracks completion of all phases of projects.
• Communicates with staff and leadership on project progress and issues and helps identify where additional resources are needed.
• Helps develop contracts and project timelines to ensure we deliver a world class product.
• Serves as key liaison between leadership, implementers, and the client facing team.
• Ensures on-time completion within budget.
• Meets or exceeds all deadlines and budget requirements.
• Leads, manages, and schedules all field portions of work.
• Assists in invertebrate preservation and ID.
• Oversees and helps with data collection, data entry, and statical analyses.
• Writes scientific reports and update clients on findings.
• Works well with other departments (primarily education and marketing) to create programming and signage for clients.

Qualifications/Experience:
• 2 + years of experience in project management.
• 2+ years of experience in environmental or biological sciences, including conducting fieldwork.
• Bachelor's degree, advanced degree is a plus.
• Background in insect and plant identification a plus.
• An understanding of project budget development and job costing.
• Proven ability to lead an interdisciplinary team in completing projects.
Additional Requirements:
• Regular attendance at organization, branch, and department staff meetings and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.

The employee is occasionally required to reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employee should be able to lift, carry any items up to 50 lbs.
