Environmental Technician

Talentify is hiring an Environmental Technician for an entry-level, field-based position in Elmhurst, IL, with regional travel required. Responsibilities include air emissions testing, data collection, and equipment maintenance. The role offers a career path to Test Engineer I within 6-12 months. Starting pay is $21/hour, with overtime and full benefits. This position is fully onsite and not remote.
Environmental Technician opening with an environmental consulting firm in Elmhurst, IL. Entry-level position with opportunity for advancement. Our goal is to promote this individual to the Test Engineer I role within 6-12 months.

Field-based, environmental testing position with regional travel required during the standard work week. Company vehicle provided for travel. Company pays for all travel time, expenses, per diem and lodging.

Starting pay: $21.00/Hour. Consistent overtime available at 1.5x rate. Employees typically earn between $50,000-$60,000 with overtime their first year.

Responsibilities:
• Perform air emissions testing and monitoring for a variety of industrial clients
• Transport equipment to site using company vehicle, set up and break down of testing equipment
• Record data, collect samples
• Equipment calibrations
• Assist engineers in air quality testing procedures
• Environmental, health and safety protocols
• Organize and load testing equipment into vehicles for upcoming jobs
• Maintenance and cleaning of testing equipment
• Using company resources, gain proficiency in performing EPA Test Methods 1-5

Qualifications:
• B.S. in Environmental Science or related field of study preferred
• Previous experience working in a field-based / hands-on capacity
• Experience using instruments to collect samples and record data
• Able to travel (regional) as required during the standard work week
• Candidates must be comfortable working at heights and lifting up to 75 lbs. to set up testing equipment

• 1.5x Overtime. $72 Per Diem
• All travel expenses covered by company. Company vehicle provided

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
