About the position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking an Entry Level Environmental Technician to join our Environmental team in Westminster, Colorado. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop a versatile career in the dielectric testing industry. The Environmental Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the Environmental business by conducting various environmental consulting tasks in the Rocky Mountain Region. This includes performing field sampling of building contaminants, assessing indoor air quality, and contributing to green building certifications. The role requires flexibility, as it may involve off-shift work, overtime, and occasional out-of-town travel, which can be up to 50% of the time depending on project demands. The Environmental Technician will be responsible for a range of tasks including field sampling of materials for contaminants such as asbestos and lead, conducting indoor air quality assessments, and supporting environmental projects like soil and groundwater sampling. Additionally, the technician will be involved in field documentation, report preparation, and maintaining training records and certifications. Participation in quality assurance and safety programs is also a key aspect of this role. Responsibilities
• Perform field sampling of building materials for asbestos, lead, PBCs, and other common contaminants.

• Conduct indoor air quality assessments through field sampling.
,
• Support green building certifications by sampling specific components such as LEED and WELL.

• Provide field support for environmental projects including soil and groundwater sampling.
,
• Prepare field documentation and reports related to sampling and assessments.
,
• Maintain training records and certifications, with updates provided as necessary.
,
• Coordinate project data, records, and reports related to work assignments.
,
• Participate in quality assurance and quality control programs, as well as safety programs.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
,
• 1+ years of previous experience in environmental investigation and testing services.

• Good oral and written communication skills.
,
• Ability to work off shifts and overtime as required.
,
• Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record.

Nice-to-haves
• AS or BS Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related Physical Science.

• Colorado Asbestos Building Inspector Certification.
,
• Colorado Lead Inspector Certification.
,
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems used for environmental remediation.

• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training.

• Familiarity with industrial hygiene and practical environmental concepts.
