Job Description
The Environmental Sustainability Specialist at beBee Careers in Lakewood, OH, will develop and coordinate environmental and occupational health programs. About the Role
The Environmental Health and Safety Engineer will develop, implement, and coordinate environmental and occupational health and safety programs for various facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with a team to execute projects and processes that improve environmental sustainability, reduce workplace injuries, and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for environmental, safety, and compliance matters.
• Support ISO 14001 and 45001 management systems through involvement in audits, objective setting, job hazard analysis, etc.
• Conduct incident investigations to identify root causes and response plans.
• Facilitate investigations and respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies, including OSHA, BWC, EPA, etc.
• Work with project engineers to identify and solve EHS and compliance issues prior to equipment installation.
• Develop and update lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) procedures for equipment.
• Communicate and educate new EHS and Agency requirements to relevant teams.
• Develop and update EHS specifications.
• Manage and lead workplace safety initiatives, including PPE selection, safety training, JHA's, EHS walks, new hire orientation, contractor safety, etc.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory agencies and policies, including ISO, EPA, NEC, NFPA, OSHA, etc.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required; preferred area of focus in Engineering or Environmental Health and Safety.
• Minimum 3-8 years' experience.
• Strong desire to take ownership and drive results.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 & 45001, EPA, NEC, and OSHA standards is beneficial.
• Motivated to improve workplace safety and environmental footprint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to accept responsibilities with minimal supervision.
