Job Description

Whitman is hiring a Full-Time Environmental Sustainability Associate in New Jersey to support environmental waste management and hazardous material assessment. Key responsibilities include administrative support, project scheduling, and client interaction. Candidates should have strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science or related field. The role involves physical activities and may require weekend or night work. Whitman offers a hybrid work model for flexibility.
Whitman is currently seeking a Full-Time Environmental Sustainability Associate to support our environmental waste management and our hazardous material assessment divisions based out of our Somerset, NJ office. The ideal candidate must possess a positive attitude, have outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, and work well in a team-oriented environment. Candidate must have the ability to coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities:
• Provide internal administrative support for the company’s environmental divisions, including preparing job-related paperwork, scheduling projects, and interacting with clients and vendors
• Work with all company departments to support any waste disposal-related activities
• Maintain and enhance our internal organizational and tracking systems to drive efficiencies for the respective divisions, including developing/managing spreadsheets, organizing files, etc.
• Perform select research to help expand our waste-related service offerings across the US and Canada
• Work with our team to drive sustainable solutions for waste material
• Support the accounting department with billing needs

Requirements:
• Relevant experience preferred, but is not mandatory
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or a related field
• Very strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
• Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
• Self-motivated, independent, results-oriented, adept at multi-tasking effectively, and able to re-prioritize as required
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and eagerness to learn
• Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds at times
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the entire body. This will include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, carrying, and stooping
• Must be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions
• Must be able to work some weekends and at night, when needed

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
