Job Summary

Organize and supervise Expand Energy’s Louisiana environmental compliance operations as well as environmental permitting. Direct in a team environment wherein all compliance and permitting activities are accurately accomplished in an efficient, timely, and safe manner to support the goals of the asset. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote and achieve operations that maintain compliance with environmental regulations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide environmental compliance support and guidance to the Louisiana team
• Oversee the coordination and direction of all environmental permitting and required filings with regulatory agencies
• Operate as a Subject Matter Expert for the Operations Team in the Haynesville Business Unit with respect to compliance associated with operations, providing proactive guidance to the team on all environmental requirements for all projects
• Work closely with the health and safety team and the regulatory team to provide support to the operations team on issues as they arise
• Mentoring of less experienced Environmental Team staff to assist them in professional development
• Responsible for preparation and maintenance of Environmental Plans for well pads in LA in accordance with current regulations. Examples of such plans include SPCC Plans, Emergency Response Plans or other plans as required by regulations
• Responsible for management of NORM and NORM surveys
• Close interaction with professionals in land, drilling, completions, production, and construction will be essential to securing necessary information
• Monitor status of all environmental submittals and follow up with regulatory agencies to ensure timely submittals and approvals
• Communications with HSER Leadership and Operations Leadership regarding risks and issues regarding operations in the field
• Participate and lead special projects for a company-wide impact
• Assist in the development of compliance systems/documents to ensure ongoing compliance and communication to other team members
• Understanding current regulations and tracking proposed regulations; identify potential impacts
• Establish and maintain both internal and external working relationships
• Foster and maintain good relationships with all regulatory agencies and personnel, including conversations through negotiations regarding non-compliance issues

Job Specific Skills
• Experience with sub-surface oil and gas environmental compliance and a general knowledge of upstream oil and gas operations
• Experience with permitting and filings associated with LDENR and LDEQ regulations
• Experience and working knowledge of USACE regulations and permitting, as well as USFWS regulations
• Working knowledge of LDENR and LDEQ regulations
• Experience with horizontal wells, shale plays, drilling, completions and producing assets in Louisiana

Education
• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Environmental Science, Engineering, or related degree

Experience
• Minimum: 5-8+ years of related experience
• Preferred: 10+ years related experience
• Preferred: 5 years of supervisory experience

Additional Qualifications
• Ability to possess a valid driver's license
• Must be self-disciplined, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to change easily
• Being inquisitive with a need to know the “why” not just the “how” of the role
• Must be able to effectively interact with agency representatives to resolve compliance issues
• Good organizational and collaborative skills required
• Computer Proficiencies: Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat
