Watearth, Inc. seeks an Environmental Stormwater Inspector in the Los Angeles area to conduct field inspections and support environmental projects. The role involves stormwater inspections, data analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 2-4 years of experience. The position requires travel for fieldwork, with collaboration occurring primarily online, emphasizing a commitment to environmental improvement and community impact.

Watearth staff are located nationwide, and this role will be located near the Los Angeles, San Bernardino or Riverside area with travel weekly to various field work for stormwater, biological, and water resources engineering inspections with the rest of the position including desktop environmental and water resources duties. Collaboration primarily occurs virtually. As a result, a person who is comfortable with (or could learn to be comfortable with) communicating heavily in the digital world will feel most at home at Watearth. This person also should be comfortable communicating with contractors. A keen eye for stormwater and desire to work on projects that make a difference to California’s natural resources is a must.
Let's discuss compensation. This role will be paid an annual salary of $65,000 to $78,000 based on experience.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Perform stormwater inspections, biological monitoring and inspections, surveying, and other field work for civil engineering and water resources engineering projects.
· Analyze collected data, prepare technical reports, and interpret results.
· Assist with environmental permits, studies, and reports.
· Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations during projects.
· Install and maintain monitoring equipment to collect data.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
· Bachelors of Science in environmental science, ecology, biology, water resources/environmental/civil engineering, geography, landscape architecture or a related degree required.
· 2-4 years’ experience in environmental science, planning, or water resources.
· Experience with environmental or stormwater field work.
· Certification or ability to obtain certification as a QSP preferred.
· Ability to safely perform field work, possess valid driver’s license and good driving record, maintain personal transportation with valid vehicle insurance suited to field work, and ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds).
