Environmental Specialist I - 634233
Location: Huntersville, NC
Job Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Specialist I to support laboratory operations by managing inventory, collecting environmental samples, and maintaining equipment. This role is essential to the day-to-day function of our environmental and engineering programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Warehouse Management (90%)
• Maintain and track lab supply inventory using warehouse management software.
• Conduct annual inventory audits and ensure optimal stock levels.
• Organize warehouse items and ensure accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing materials.
Support & Administrative Tasks (10%)
• Assist with department-wide initiatives including training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance.
• Participate in special projects and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
Additional Duties:
• Collect and/or receive scientific and environmental samples for analysis.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab equipment.
• Ensure accurate data entry and labeling for all samples and inventory items.
• Follow established safety and operational protocols.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Attributes:
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Experience:
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with inventory systems, stocking, and ordering supplies.
