The State of North Carolina is hiring an Environmental Specialist I for a temporary position in Raleigh, NC. The role involves fieldwork, towing boats, and collecting environmental samples. This temporary position is located in Raleigh, NC - Wake County. Â

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $27.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Environmental Quality. This position is located at 4040 District Dr, Raleigh, NC 27607.

The incumbent will perform duties such as field work, towing boats, collecting surface water, sediment and biological samples for chemical analysis. Using field meters to establish in situ physical parameters. Physically demanding work, including varying weather and difficult terrain.

• Knowledge of environmental science and/or water quality sampling and/or field work.
