Job Description

EWMI is seeking an Environmental Specialist for its Technical Services Division in Northampton, PA. The role involves performing drum and lab pack projects, understanding waste classifications, and generating regulatory documents. Candidates should be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently. A CDL license and a degree in a related field are preferred. The position includes a competitive compensation package with benefits and requires some overnight travel.
Professional and quality driven full service environmental contractor is looking for an individual to join our Technical Services Division located in Northampton, PA. We are dedicated to providing our customers with premium environmental services throughout the region and beyond. The successful candidate must be self motivated, organized, be a problem solver, have the ability to work with employees, vendors and clients.

Position: Environmental Specialist– Technical Services Division – Environmental Waste Minimization, Inc., Northampton, PA

Primary Duties & Expectations:
• Primary duties shall be to perform drum and lab pack projects.
• Experience preferred, but not required in the Hazardous Waste Industry. Knowledge of lab pack procedures, DOT rules and RCRA.
• Understanding of waste classifications in accordance with federal, state and local regulations including RCRA and DOT hazardous and non hazardous waste regulations.
• Ability to segregate waste chemicals in accordance with packing group requirements and guidelines.
• Ability to complete waste characterizations reports and provide quality submittal to appropriate TSDFs
• Ability to generate all regulatory driven documents such as manifests, container labels, container markings and placards.
• The ability to load and unload drums manually, perform various labor functions as well as drive locally and regionally.
• Ability to work independently and productively; Competent computer skills and well-developed business acumen.
• Understand the importance of strict adherence to the corporate safety program.
• Some overnight travel is required.
• Support all Company divisions, including after hours/weekend on-call for emergencies.
• The ability to solve problems, interact with clients and professionally represent the company.
• Provide quality customer service
• Communicate follow up activities to the organization.

• Performances of all duties are to be conducted with safety as the top priority.

Compensation package:

40 hour work week plus overtime

All related business expenses (Tolls, mileage, etc),

Safety Gear and work uniform

Per Diem: $50/night for overnight travel

Paid Holidays (9 per year)

Company laptop and cell phone

REQUIREMENTS
• Possess or willing to obtain CDL license and associated endorsements.
• A 4-year degree in chemistry/science related field. Or equivalent industry experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of OSHA, DOT and EPA/RCRA regulations.
