Job Description

Enercon is seeking an Environmental Specialist (Ecologist) for their Oklahoma City or Dallas office. The role involves managing energy development projects, conducting environmental assessments, obtaining permits, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Sciences and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office are required. About the position

Our Environmental Services Group is currently seeking an Ecologist for our Oklahoma City, OK or Dallas, TX office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage energy development projects alongside teams of natural resources scientists. This will include performing wetland delineations, T&E habitat characterization, land use mapping, vegetation cover classification, GPS data collection, and preparing permits and reports for agencies such as USACE, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and various state and county agencies.

• Drive success across utility projects while building strong client relationships and shaping the future of environmental policy and compliance.

• Strategically identify new opportunities, develop winning proposals, and inspire clients with engaging presentations that drive growth.

• Develop and maintain key client relationships, fostering collaboration and long-term success.
,
• Complete federal and state environmental permitting, including right-of-way permits, regulatory strategy, site feasibility assessments, and NPDES, and permit compliance for utility projects.
,
• Obtain environmental permits and prepare reports for regulatory agencies like USACE, United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and other state and county agencies.

• Ensure document accuracy and compliance with National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and other applicable regulations.

• Develop and maintain environmental policy and procedures manuals for compliance assurance throughout project lifecycles.
,
• Ensure compliance with key environmental regulations, including the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act (Section 404), and state water quality regulations.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Sciences (preferably Biology or related degree).
,
• Minimum of 5 years of environmental experience, or appropriate industry-recognized licenses or certifications indicating achievement in the field of specialty and 8 years of progressive experience.

• Ability to communicate highly technical environmental data to a range of audiences from agency regulators to elected officials and landowners.
,
• Existing relationships with relevant agencies (USACE, USFWS) is a plus.

• Experience with USACE Section 404/10 Permitting.
,
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
,
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
,
• Must possess a valid Driver's License and have a consistent clear Motor Vehicle report/driving history.
