Job Description

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals is hiring a full-time Environmental Specialist in Center, ND. The role involves managing Environmental Compliance programs and requires commuting to the site. Candidates must have a relevant Bachelor's degree and at least two years of environmental experience. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, leading audits, and conducting employee training. Relocation assistance within the US is available.

Location: Center

This is a FULL-TIME position as an employee of our energy client and REQUIRES commuting to the Center, ND area. This position CANNOT be worked from a remote setting; HOWEVER, relocation assistance within the US is available.

What you will be doing:
As an integral part of the site EHS team, the Environmental Specialist will report to the facility EHS Manager and be responsible for supporting the management and overall direction of Environmental Compliance programs and activities at the facility.

Partial List of Minimum Requirements (Must possess ALL listed to be considered):
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States, employer sponsorship is not available.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College / University in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, EHS or related discipline.
• Two (2) or more years of environmental experience with wastewater treatment.
• Demonstrated success executing compliance programs regarding Federal, State and local Safety and Multi-Media Environmental regulations.

Major Responsibilities:
• Partner with operational leadership and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding interpretation of federal, state, and local Environmental compliance regulations.
• Participate in/lead audits and inspections developing remediation plans as needed.
• Participate in/lead multi-media environmental compliance including, but not limited to:
Clean Water Act (CWA);
Waste (hazardous and non-hazardous);
Clean Air Act (CAA).
• Maintain and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Lead or participate in employee training programs regarding EHS behaviors and compliance.
