The Board of Certified Safety Professionals is seeking a full-time Environmental Specialist/Engineer in Anniston, AL. The role involves supporting EHS programs, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and conducting audits. Candidates must have a relevant Bachelor's degree and at least one year of environmental regulatory experience, preferably in manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available, but commuting to Anniston is required.

Environmental Specialist / Engineer in Anniston, AL, Job 1766

This is a FULL-TIME position as an employee of our manufacturing client and REQUIRES commuting to the Anniston, AL area. Relocation assistance within the US is available.

What you will be doing:

As the Environmental Specialist / Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the management and overall direction of EHS programs and activities at the facility.

Minimum Requirements (Must possess ALL listed to be considered):
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States, employer sponsorship is not available.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College / University in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• One (1) or more years of Environmental regulatory experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success handling multi-media environmental programs.
Additional Preferred (not required)

Competencies:
• 3 or more years of EHS management experience in manufacturing environments.
• Experience with Air permitting.
Major Responsibilities:
• Partner with operational leadership and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding interpretation of federal, state, and local Environmental compliance regulations.
• Align corporate and local Environmental goals and strategies.
• Participate in/lead audits and inspections developing remediation plans as needed.
• Participate in/lead multi-media environmental compliance including, but not limited to:
Water (waste, storm);
Solid Waste (hazardous and non-hazardous);
Air (internal respiratory and external emissions).
• Maintain positive relationships with federal, state, and local regulators.
• Maintain and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Lead or participate in employee training programs regarding EHS behaviors and compliance.
