Job Description

Aptive is seeking Environmental Services Technicians for housekeeping roles at various locations in Southeast Louisiana, specifically for the Veterans Health Care System. Responsibilities include aseptic cleaning, floor maintenance, and compliance with safety protocols. Candidates should have at least one year of relevant experience and be able to perform physical tasks. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays.
Aptive Resources, a trusted provider of government health care staffing solutions, is seeking experienced Environmental Services Technicians to deliver comprehensive housekeeping and cleaning services for the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS). Our mission is to support the VA in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for Veterans, visitors, and staff across multiple locations.

Work Locations
Contract personnel will work at the following SLVHCS locations:
• Main Facility: 2400 Canal St., New Orleans, LA
• Slidell CBOC: 60491 Doss Dr., Suite B, Slidell, LA
• Hammond CBOC: 1131 S Morrison Blvd., Hammond, LA
• Baton Rouge CBOC: 7850 Anselmo Lane, Baton Rouge, LA

Hours of Operation
• Shifts: 7 days a week, including weekends and federal holidays.
• Hours: 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM, with flexibility required based on facility needs.
• General Cleaning Services:
• Perform aseptic cleaning of approximately 435,000 square feet, ensuring patient care areas, public spaces, and staff workspaces are maintained to hospital-grade standards.
• Conduct daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Perform specialized tasks including carpet shampooing, changing cubicle curtains, and window washing.
• Floor Maintenance:
• Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and buff floors to maintain a uniform, glossy appearance.
• Use proper methods and solutions to clean and protect various floor surfaces.
• Public and Patient Care Areas:
• Clean restrooms, showers, waiting areas, and common spaces using EPA-approved germicidal detergents.
• Restock restroom supplies to ensure uninterrupted availability.
• Specialized Cleaning:
• Follow infection control protocols for patient rooms, isolation areas, and high-traffic spaces.
• Maintain carpets, rugs, and mats using professional cleaning methods.
• Compliance and Reporting:
• Complete daily logs to document cleaning tasks and report to the designated Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
• Adhere to VA safety and sanitation protocols, including VA-mandated training.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year of aseptic cleaning experience in a healthcare or hospital setting preferred.
• Training and Certifications:
• Understanding of infection control and hospital-grade cleaning standards.
• Skills:
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and follow instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderate to heavy physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and carrying equipment.
• Comfortable working in close proximity to patients, with exposure to cleaning chemicals and healthcare-related environments.
