Job Description

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor for the 1st shift. Job Description

Assists in maintaining a high quality level of housekeeping through proper scheduling, training, motivation, and follow-up. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, meets regulatory requirements, and maintains accurate records across the system. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience
• 3 years of experience in management
• 1 year of experience in housekeeping or environmental services

Preferred Qualifications
• Some college

Education
• High school diploma or equivalent

Certification Summary
• No professional certifications required

• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Ability to coordinate work schedules and effectively utilize manpower to accomplish required tasks and projects
• Ability to apply judgment and make sound decisions
• Ability to balance a hectic workload and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to identify problems, brainstorm possible solutions, communicate and take action, solve the problem, and prevent the problem from recurring
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Job Responsibilities
• Supports and participates in continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care and services provided.
• Manages shift operations/responsibilities on a daily basis.
• Assesses the training needs of staff and tailors training programs to meet.
• Enforces work rules fairly and equitably.
• Ensures policies and assignments are clearly communicated, understood, and enforced through accountability.
• Thinks, acts, and behaves as the department head after Manager, Facilities Management Operations and Manager, Environmental Services have departed the premises.
• Completes required number of quality improvement inspections each month in a timely, equitable manner.
• Interfaces with all internal and external customer groups, provides personalized attention, and responds to needs and requests with a sense of urgency.
• Demonstrates an understanding of and supports the philosophy of family-centered care.
• Educates employees of departmental goals and objectives, helping them to understand their goals.
• Stays visible and available to staff, seeking out opportunities to become actively involved, lend support, address problems, and suggest opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluates workloads and arranges job schedules, assignments, and procedures.
• Drives and facilitates timely discharge and transfer cleaning through prioritization of resources to support admission, discharge, or transfer process and effective patient flow.
• Removes barriers or escalates to appropriate leader.
• Follows up on all reported problems and complaints, gets to the root of the problem, and ensures expedient resolution.
• Evaluates employee work performance and conducts timely annual performance evaluations.
• Meets all in-service requirements.
