Newman Regional Health is seeking an Environmental Services Manager in Emporia, KS. This full-time role involves overseeing the Environmental Services Department, ensuring cleanliness, managing staff, and adhering to budget and safety standards. This is a FT position Monday thru Friday 7:-3:30pm-nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Summary:

Oversees Operations of the Environmental Services Department and ensures that all areas assigned are cleaned thoroughly according to procedures and regulations.

Essential Functions:
• Ensures staff perform duties in a professional manner
• In conjunction with Facilities Director and HR, oversees the personnel aspects of the Environmental Services Department
• Assists in the preparation of the operational and capital budgets for the Environmental Services Department. Maintains the budget for the department
• Ensures that the orientation program for employees includes an orientation to all areas of environmental services as it pertains to their job duties
• Oversee the laundry and linen team
• Develop job descriptions and criteria based performance evaluations for each position in the department
• Provides educational in-services and departmental meetings on a regular basis
• Audits employee payroll time and provides accurate departmental payroll information
• Demonstrates the ability to effectively resolve problems with employees concerning such items as staffing and other personnel issues
• Ensure that precautions against physical, chemical and biological hazards are adhered to following the standards for infection control and safety management
• Interviews all applicants and evaluates and counsels all employees
• Follows infection control standards to eliminate the spread of illnesses and disease

The ideal candidate:
• Possess effective communication skills
• Have the ability to influence others to change position or to adopt a specific point of view
• Organizes and direct oneself and effectively supervise others

Qualifications:
• High School Graduate or GED
• Any courses in management or certification in Environmental Services is beneficial
• Supervisory experience in a healthcare setting preferred
