Aramark is seeking an Environmental Services Director for Children's Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham, AL. This role involves leading custodial operations, managing a team of employees, and ensuring cleaning, sanitizing, and waste removal meet operational and financial goals. The director will foster client relationships, oversee budget management, and implement cost control measures. About the position

Aramark Healthcare+ is currently seeking an Environmental Services Director to join our team at Childrens Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham, AL. The Environmental Services Director will lead custodial operations, supervise, and drive results of the Environmental Services Team. In this position, you will lead a team of full-time salaried and hourly employees at this 350-bed hospital. This role is critical in ensuring that all cleaning, sanitizing, and waste removal functions within the healthcare facility meet operating and financial goals, client objectives, and customer needs. The Environmental Services Director will have overall ownership and accountability for the operational management and financial performance of the unit. This includes modeling key leadership behaviors and ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and service excellence for employees, clients, and consumers. The director will coach employees by creating a shared understanding of what needs to be achieved and how it is to be achieved, while also rewarding and recognizing employees for their contributions. Identifying and engaging top talent and developing team members to their fullest potential within the organization is a key responsibility. In terms of client relationships, the director will establish and maintain effective rapport with clients and customers to foster mutually beneficial business relationships. This involves identifying client needs, communicating operational progress, and delivering excellent customer service. The director will also facilitate and support new business and retention activities, developing programs to meet client and customer demands and specifications. Financial performance is another critical aspect of this role. The Environmental Services Director will build revenue and manage the budget, which includes cost controls regarding labor, supply, and inventory. They will ensure the completion and maintenance of financial statements relative to the department and have oversight responsibility to deliver client and company financial targets. Understanding performance metrics, data, order, and inventory trends is essential to educate teams on key levers to improve margins. Finally, the director will implement and maintain the GM agenda for both labor and total quality management requirements, creating value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management. Ensuring consistent application of Aramark's operating standards and processes, particularly focusing on efficiencies in sustainability efforts to reduce energy consumption and labor productivity standards, is also a significant part of the role.

Requirements
• Requires at least five to seven years of experience in healthcare environmental services
,
• Requires up to two to three years of experience in a management or supervisory role preferred
,
• Requires a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience
,
• Model key leadership behaviors and ensure the highest levels of safety, quality and service excellence for employees, clients and consumers
