The State of Delaware is seeking an Environmental Scientist for an expert-level position in Dover, DE. The role involves providing technical leadership and managing advanced environmental laboratory operations, developing complex environmental projects, and serving as a subject-matter expert. Candidates must have a Master's degree and extensive experience in project management, scientific data analysis, and environmental regulations.
at State of Delaware in Dover, Delaware, United States Job Description This expert level position will provide technical leadership and program management for advanced environmental laboratory operations. The incumbent leads complex analytical, biological, and chemical programs of statewide significance, exercises independent scientific judgment, and serves as a subject-matter expert for emerging technologies, laboratory quality systems, and safety. This position will represent the Department on various committees and working groups, as well as promote inter-agency partnerships and work with multi-disciplinary teams of laboratory staff, natural resource managers, and regulators. Will develop and implement complex environmental projects to evaluate best management practices to protect/remediate water quality, habitat, living resources and human health. for Environmental Scientist V Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control:
Possession of a Masters degree in an environmentally related scientific discipline. Possession of scientific prominence or recognition with publication in a scientific or trade journal. Five years experience in environmental or natural resources project management which includes planning, developing, implementing, managing and evaluating environmental or natural resources projects to ensure objectives are met. Five years experience in analyzing and evaluating scientific data. Five years experience in interpreting environmental laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
