Job Description

MIDWEST MOLE is seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist I/Technical Writer in Charlotte, NC, to support their freight rail program. Responsibilities include conducting environmental surveys, preparing technical reports, and communicating with project staff. Candidates should have a science-related degree and be proficient in MS Office and Adobe. Clinchfield Consulting Group looking for a full-time Environmental Scientist I/Technical Writer to support our growing freight rail program. Applicants must have a good work ethic and a willingness to learn. We rely on our professionals to deliver services in a timely and professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct environmental surveys and contractor oversight for industrial hygiene projects. Understanding of asbestos.
• Communicate with program management, project staff, and subcontractors to obtain project information needed for preparation of technical reports.
• Review field documentation pertaining to industrial hygiene projects. Evaluate accuracy and completeness of field submittals, confirm findings, and develop recommendations under the guidance of technical leadership.
• Understand and interpret laboratory reports.
• Prepare technical memorandums and reports.
• Perform other duties as needed.
• Some travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in science-related field.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe
• Ability to use a surveying/mapping application on hand-held devices. Training will be provided with the expectation that proficiency will be attained through practice and consistent usage of the client required application.
• Excellent technical and general communication skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team in a fast-paced environment.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
• Ability to obtain railroad badging through enrollment in ISNetworld (ISN), a supplier information management system utilized by freight rail clients.

Job Type: Full Time Salary: Based on experience
