Job Description
Keystone Consultants, LLC is seeking an Environmental Scientist for a field position in Las Vegas, NV. The role involves leading environmental investigations, permit preparation, and data analysis related to soil and water samples. Candidates should have a B.S. in Environmental Sciences and 3-10 years of relevant experience, including wetland delineation. The position offers a salary of $70K–95K annually and includes daily per diem for fieldwork.
Purpose:
The Environmental Scientist position is responsible for acting as a lead resource for project staff, through the development of project specific environmental investigations and permitting projects.
This is a field position and will get a daily per diem. The project will be located outside of Las Vegas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Permit preparation; including general permit preparation for well sites and pipeline projects, plant and soil identification.
• Prepare technical evaluations and validate analytical data retrieved from field work, conducting corrective actions.
• Collect, analyze, and report on environmental data, such as soil or water samples.
• Compare results and methods to federal and local regulations and guidelines, reporting on the gaps and achievements.
• Operates instruments, track test results, and troubleshoot when problems arise.
• Compile and submit permit packages to state agencies.
• Participate in field visits.
Requirements:
• Prior field experience when performing the duties of an Environmental Scientist, including a proficient understanding and knowledge of unique wetland and stream habitats, vegetation types and soil identification.
• B.S. in Environmental Sciences or similar field from an accredited university. Applicable industry experience may be substituted at the discretion of senior management.
• 3 years of wetland delineation experience is a must.
• 3-10 years experience in the environmental field.
• Experience in permit preparation, including general permit preparation for well sites and pipeline projects, plant and soil identification, and an understanding of rare, threatened, and endangered species clearances.
• Knowledge of field data collection and GPS technology.
