Job Description
HDR, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist II in Glenallen, MO. The role involves collecting data, conducting environmental assessments, and assisting clients with permits. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Environmental Science and 5 years of relevant experience. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required. In the role of Environmental Scientist II, we'll count on you to
• Collect project-related data, which may include research, conducting surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, land use, etc
• Assimilate and manage data
• Prepare constraints mapping
• Define the level of environmental analysis required
• Conduct environmental impact assessments
• Perform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods
• Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings
• Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance
• Work independently on medium-size projects, or assist more-senior scientists on larger projects
• Perform other related duties as needed

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
• 5 years technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Strong environmental writing and communication skills
• Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
