The role involves conducting field surveys for aquatic life, operating boats for data collection, assisting in vegetative surveys, and supporting project managers with data analysis and report writing. The position is full-time and does not require a specific degree.
Tetra Tech is currently seeking an entry/mid-level Aquatic Ecologist for its Owings Mills, MD office. The successful candidate will work as a team member to support various projects of substantial variety and complexity, typically under the direct supervision of a Project Manager.
About the Role
• Conduct field surveys for macroinvertebrate, fish, and habitat features, potentially including taxonomic identifications.
• Operate a variety of boats for conducting field surveys including sampling of surface water, sediment, and aquatic biota
• Assist in vegetative surveys and mapping (wetland and forest delineations)
• Support project managers in data analysis and report preparation for biological survey data
• Perform writing assignments to contribute to project documentation and deliverables such as memos and reports
