Environmental Research Group, LLC (ERG) is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Restoration Team in support of the Army Environmental Cleanup Program at facilities located primarily in DC, MD, NJ and PA. This full-time position will be remote but requires routine travel to Army Installations throughout the region for field visits and meetings for various oversight tasks and requires residency in the DC/Baltimore area. The position may include support to compliance related projects, such as stormwater, spill prevention and response, or hazardous materials and waste.

The successful candidate will review environmental documents, manage technical projects, write reports, communicate with client and regulators while supporting Army Installation Environmental Staff.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field. Master's degree a plus.
• Experience in CERCLA/RCRA environmental cleanup projects.
• Working knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD)Cleanup Program and familiarity with MD, NJ, PA, and NY regulatory requirements is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time efficiently, be responsive, and work independently.
• Flexibility to serve in multiple roles and teams depending on the client and project.
• Must be able to pass DoD security clearances and background checks.
• US citizenship required.
Knowledge and Experience
• Familiar with CERCLA/RCRA program requirements related to Environmental Restoration. Experience in conducting or oversight of Remedial Investigations (RI), Feasibility Studies (FS), and site remediation projects. Experience with DoD cleanup projects is a plus.
• Experience in preparing CERCLA/RCRA environmental reports and ability to review such reports in support of the Army Client.
• Familiarity with emerging contaminates specifically PFAS is desirable.
• Experience in providing environmental compliance support, including conducting site visits and field work.
• Work experience with the DoD, Maryland Department of the Environment, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, and D.C. Department Energy & Environment is a plus.
