About the position

The TRC San Diego office is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Geologist, Hydrogeologist, or related Geoscientist for full-time employment. This role involves working on stormwater compliance, environmental site assessments, and remediation, while contributing to meaningful projects that support local communities and promote sustainability.

Responsibilities
• Conduct stormwater compliance inspections and reporting on construction, industrial, and municipal sites.

• Perform environmental site assessments and remediation, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
,
• Oversee the field assessment of contaminated soil gas, soil, indoor air, and groundwater.
,
• Prepare necessary permits and manage scheduling and oversight of utility locating, geophysics, excavation, driller, and construction subcontractors.
,
• Install erosion control features, soil gas probes, and groundwater monitoring wells.
,
• Sample dry weather surface flow, stormwater, groundwater, soil, and soil gas.
,
• Interpret geological and hydrogeological data from soil borings, excavations, trenches, and monitoring wells.
,
• Analyze data and prepare reports, including budget management.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in civil or environmental engineering, or in the Geosciences.
,
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
,
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel.
,
• Zero to five years of experience in a related field.
,
• High safety awareness and adherence to TRC's health and safety programs.
,
• EIT or GIT certification is desirable.
,
• Training in AutoCAD or ArcView GIS is desirable.
,
• 40-hour HAZWOPER training, including current refresher training is desirable.
,
• Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience with environmental site assessments and remediation processes.

• Familiarity with stormwater management practices.

• Knowledge of local environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
