Overview

This is a full-time on-site role for an experienced mid-level* Environmental Scientist at Cornwall Mining Consultants in Camborne, Cornwall.

As a specialist in contaminated land assessment, you will be responsible for liaising with clients; researching, designing and conducting field work, environmental consulting, soil analysis, and contaminated land assessments on a regular basis.

We will provide training in mining subsidence research and assessment and on-site mining hazard investigation.

Duties

- Design, Conduct and Manage contaminated land surveys and field investigations

- Analyse geological and soil data using software such as QGIS, ArcGIS.

- Liaise with and advise professional and public clients

- Apply recognised phased approach using the CLEA model

- Collaborate with team members on research projects

- Produce accurate high quality professional reports

- Maintain accurate records of findings and observations

Qualifications
• Field Work and Geological Assessment skills
• Environmental Consulting expertise
• Minimum 2-years practical experience*
• Experience of the CLEA model
• Knowledge of CL:AIRE
• Strong background in Geology
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Geology or related field

Additional Skills/Knowledge you might have

- Geotechnical and Slope Stability

- Geology or Mining History of South West

- Mining subsidence assessment and remediation

- Ground water and Ground gas assessment

Salary & Benefits
• Starting salary £25k to £30k pa*
