Job Description

Converse Consultants is seeking a Staff Environmental Scientist in Reno, NV, to apply Environmental Science techniques for various assessments and investigations. The role involves conducting environmental site assessments, sampling, and report preparation, requiring a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills and be able to work independently. The position is hybrid, combining office and remote work.
Converse Consultants is looking for a Staff Environmental Scientist that evaluates, selects and applies standard Environmental Science techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position or equivalent bachelor's degree in science.

Reporting Structure/Limits of Authority and Responsibility

Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.

Typical Duties

Performs work that involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Assignments usually include one or more of the following: Conduct Phase I environmental site assessments, prepare field sampling plans, conduct indoor and outdoor air quality assessments, conduct Phase II ESA, oversee sub-surface borings, collect soil and ground water samples, sample groundwater monitoring wells, information retrieval (from various sources), site reconnaissance, documenting field activities, report preparation, and overall support of the regional operation.

Ideal candidate has excellent communication, technical writing, organizational skills, is proficient in Word and Excel, and can work independently with minimal supervision

Must have good driving record.

Must pass physical exam and drug test prior to employment.

Completion of 40-Hour OSHA training preferred

Job is hybrid of office and remote
