Position Description:

Environmental scientist to perform environmental field sampling, inspection and monitoring work at project locations within Chicago metro area. Position Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering

Why is working at Peterson Environmental, Ltd. different than typical environmental consulting firms? Glad you asked – here are some reasons why:

- Get paid for all your work time – compensation is based on an hourly rate with OVERTIME (i.e., time & half (1.5) base hourly rate ($45/hour) ) for time worked in excess of 40 hours/week. We have lived in the salaried consulting world where all work time over 40 hours in a given week (and lots of it) is unpaid and we know the “grass is not greener” on that side of the fence.

- Say goodbye to your daily unpaid office commute. We still believe remote work where employees work from home offices. We have periodic team meetings for project purposes and for team building but most in-office work is from home office. We understand and support work/life balance.

- All use of personal vehicles for company/business purposes is paid/reimbursed at Federal rate of 70 cents per mile (portal to portal).

- We believe in fostering employee professional growth through diversification of experiences and training opportunities. Even when the training time might not be a direct benefit to the company we still do it.

- We are small, we are growing, and we don’t know everything about everything. Leadership for Peterson Environmental is not only top down, but also bottom up. We seek employee input and follow employee professional interests. We are looking for people to join our team and help us navigate our company into new opportunities in future.
