Why does the job exist?

The EMNRD Oil Conservation Division (OCD) Environmental Bureau is seeking to fill an Environmental Remediation Coordinator position to assist with the oversight and coordination of funds to support OCD awarded Vendor contracts for environmental assessment, remediation, restoration, and monitoring contract services associated with oil and gas operations in New Mexico. This included reviewing remediation, closure, groundwater abatement plans, etc. associated with the environmental remediation of the orphan sites.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Physical, Natural, or Environmental Science, Soil Science, or Engineering and five (5) years of work experience in public/environmental health, environmental science, Air Quality Management, Biology, Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Hazardous Waste Management, Wildlife Management, and/or Water Resources. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Must maintain and possess a current New Mexico Driver's License
Working Conditions

Working Conditions for individual positions in this classification will vary based on each agency's utilization, essential functions, and the recruitment needs at the time a vacancy is posted. All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities. Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Some field/facility site inspections required.
